Blue tits in "wrong" box!!

For 3 years I have had Blue tits nesting in a wooden box on the back of my garage.

This year I replaced the box with a posh woodcrete one and put it in the same position. I moved the old box and hung it on the fence. Both these boxes have a hole for Blue tits only. During Nest Box week I decided to get another woodcrete box with a larger hole for Great tits and Sparrows. The Blue tits spent ages checking out all 3 boxes and then decided on the one with the larger hole which means the other two will be empty as I only have the one pair!!

The 2 "Blue tit" boxes are in good positions with trees and shelter but the box they have chosen is more exposed and whats more the children next door have their trampoline right next to the fence but it has not detered the birds!!

It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
