It seems the birds are as confused as we are and over the last few weeks the Blue Tits and today the Great Tits have been checking out the nesting boxes. Surprisingly, these Marks & Spencer boxes we purchased last year were designed for Blue Tits as we added 25mm metal plates to the entrance (as we have Great Spotted Woodpeckers who tend to attack nest boxes). It looks as though the Great Tit could get in and out ok but I hope they don't eat too much pastry and get stuck ! Today we converted two nest boxes with 32mm metal plates so hopefully the Great Tits will find the exact entrance hole for them !!
Looks nice inside !
Nice view from the front door !
the right height from the ground !
Likes the inside !
checking the overhang !
the other adult flying in for a house inspection check
both adults inspecting their surroundings

Hi Sandpiper, its looking promising for springtime so I hope your Blue Tits eventually set up in your nesting box and that you are able to see some fledglings in due course; Once they see the Green Caterpillers appearing in the springtime they will know its time to raise a family.
