...it may be soon LOLLooking at alternatives for my "lawn", if I can even call it that. It's basically a mess what with the dogs tearing around and doing their business there and the slight lack of care it recieves. Did try adding more grass seed but it didn't take too well and added to that as our garden is on a slope it doesn't tend to retain enough water for lawn grasses. Google brought up the option of clover lawns, apparently clover is more resitant to doggy meyhem (and there is a large patch of clover providing the only real greenery on the lawn!). Anyone else ever tried a clover lawn? The only concern is the risk of stung paws due to the bees it will no doubt attract!

LOL We have a corner of clover but it is taking too long to spread and I need something for the many bald patches! My lawn currently has a comb-over LOL
I have a cut lawned area but I allow the clover to grow through and flower, especially in Spring as the bees love it!
In summer I keep it well mown as there is lots of other pollen laden plants around for the pollinators. My daughter and dog also play on it in the summer and I find this combination works well for us! Don't know too much about a dedicated clover lawn I'm afraid...

Doggie, that was a great thread! I still have my mystery weeds in the corner (I did find out what they were but I've forgotton, they're good ground cover though!). Won't be a dedicated clover lawn, that would require too much work I'll just sprinkle the seeds through the lawn and hope something green appears!
