The same old problem....I have loads of cats in the area and all seem to think my garden is their toilet; which is one problem. The other problem of course is that I have so few birds coming now ( new neighbour with 2 cats).
If we see a cat in the garden my 4 year old son is alerted and comes rushing out with his toy trumpet and 'toots' them away.
Any more realistic, inexpensive and non time consuming cat solutions? How high would bird feeders need to be for birds to be happy to use feeders?
Lots of debatable methods for keeping cats away Amanda, but by far your son and is trumpet is the best one I have heared so far, how much does he charge per hour?

Super soaker water pistol, one that you can shoot from a long distance. Failing that my dog keeps them from staying long in my garden. I love cats but they do not go well with birds. Either that or ask your neighbour to attach a bell to their cats collars. They don't cost much so you could always give them as a welcome to the neighbourhood pressie. Good luck.
Ditto here
thank you all for your replies on problem cats...I will see what I can improve on and keep trying with the trumpet method!! The ultra sonic device looks good but sadly not affordable for me. But I appreciate all your comments. At least Im not alone in my dilemma!
a good chunk of homemade chocolate cake!!
