Hello All,
As many will know I have put down a good area of old lawn to wild flowers and this summer had some reasonable results. However I did find that much of the success was through growing plug plants which were then replanted into the area. This worked well but was actually quite labour intensive alongside all the other gardening jobs which needed doing.
This year I have decided to re-vamp this area and actually dig out the strong rye grass and re-seed with wild flowers and some less 'agressive' grasses designed for meadow planting. I have also decided to go for wild flowers which are native to this area (Somerset) except for just a couple of additions which I couldn't resist!!....
In preparation for this I did some research and then ordered some seeds online which will be used in my 'own' wild flower mix! Obviously I won't have results until the next few seasons but I wanted to share with you the details of a couple of suppliers that I used and so far have been impressed with in case anyone else is also thinking about buying wild flower seeds?
Both of these suppliers (in my opinion) offered a good range of species at a reasonable price. Both suppliers delivered within two days of the order!!

Thank you Mrs T, I started digging out the grass this afternoon.....what a job!!! I reckon I have between 20-30sq meters to strip and I got about three quarters of it done this afternoon until I ran out of time! I've also changed the paths a little bit which run through the meadow area, I've put some curves in them which should help to make it look bigger and bit more natural!
It was too dark to take pictures of my hard work so far but when I get back out there (hopefully over the weekend) I'll take some snaps and post up my progress....
