Snowdrops 9/2/11

Its my only clump :(

As you can see a little special as they have green horse-shoe markings on the outer petals and at that point my crocus flowers were still not out.

 Chris.

A very old Shropshire Lad.

  • They are lovely Chris. They are so delicate in appearance but tough as old boots. Spring is on the way.:-)

( You should put the photo on Mrs T thread about snowdrops, you will enjoy reading it I'm sure. I am hoping to get a photo of mine tomorrow and put it on).

    Kind regards Jane.

  • I love snowdrops, just love them. I was fascinated to learn that they have a kind of antifreeze in their leaves which is how they can get through snow - ain't nature amazing!

Well i never new that! you do learn something new everyday don't you?

I shouldn't worry about your crocus not being out Chris, I haven't go any bulbs in flower yet, in fact most have only just broke the surface!!

Looking forward to those first few flowers I have to say, makes you want to get out and start gardening again doesn't it!

  • It might be your only clump Chris ,but its a nice clump ,always welcome to see good photos

    Regards  Mick
