I have been trying to practice and improve my photography, honest I have! Stood next to the dahlias to take this one, and was shocked to see the one plant has grown taller than me now. It must be about 5'6" - 5'8" now!

Left the salad bowl lettuce to go to seed, thinking something would surely lay eggs on it or make a meal of it, but no sign of either yet, apart from a tiny hole in one leaf and a little nibble on the edge of another.
Either things are hatching out and being eaten immediately by all the birds, or else the anticipated bugs just are not around.
