    Hi Jazzcat

    Thank you for your reply

    Wow that is a very tall thistle - like a triffid.  I assume that you have a big garden or part of your garden is wild to attract birds, mammels and insects.

    Are you going to remove it?

    I see that you are from Bedford to, so we are from the same area. Pegsdon is one of the places that Dave and I go for walks - with the Bedford Birders (are you a member at all?).

    I posted a report on here on the RSPB Forum about Pegsdon. I think it will be in the 'Where to go area' of this Forum, or you can type in the word Pegsdon in the search engine and it will find any words of that ilk.

    Do you go to Pegsdon regularly?  Love to read your report and look at your photo on your return! {big smile}

    Regards

    Thanks for your comments and your friend request.

    We do have quite a big garden - luckily the thistle is at the bottom of the garden and we can't see it from the house.

    I have that part of the garden as a cottage garden area with some plum trees planted there as well.

    We are in the middle of some very heavy rain at the moment - my cat has come to see me as she doesn't like the sound of the rain and gets very nervous.

    We enjoyed our walk at Pegsdon - weather wsn't very good as it kept drizzling all morning - we hadn't been there before in spite of only being about 15 mins away. Might think about doing the circular walk from Barton through Hexton and pegsdon and back - looks as if it would be interesting.

    We haven't joined the Bedford group - we would be nearer to the group at The Lodge - I still work fulltime so spare time is limited I'm afraid.

    We are hoping to go to the Iron Age event at The Lodge at the weekend - it looks very interesting.

  • Hi think it may be a Scotch thistle.
