Migration of Redstart

I've no idea why those redstarts haven't migrated, though I will say it's not unique to redstarts, I read somewhere that Dartford Warblers had been seen recently on the south coast.

It may be they were a late brood and not ready to migrate with the others, or perhaps the environment was just right for them to stay, but I am wildly guessing. Hopefully someone may be able to give an idea,

The description of a flock doesn't sounds like the typical habit for redstarts, and the time of year is wrong, so I think this is a misidentification. Any photos?

From the description I am wondering if it was a flock of redwing as they are here this time of year and generally in numbers rather than individual in my humble opinion but yes photos always help for ID purposes.

Dartford Warblers have always been a resident in the UK and have always suffered in long harsh Winters in the UK.

I can see this thread has gone cold. But, if there is any update/response, what does the above mean in terms of how it was "found out"? Even if it was April, what has been written isn't 'redstart'.

Thanks for the reply. Personally, from what you've written, I've eliminated redstart. I appreciate you've decided that is what they were, so I won't type anymore.
