Does anyone have a scope rucksack? My OH has recently bought a new tripod, Its heavier than his last one and he suffers neck and shoulder pain occassionally. He always said that he didn't want one as it is was quicker if he spotted anything to take it off his shoulder rather than have to get the rucksack off. Anyway regardless. I'm getting him one for Christmas. I'm wondering if any users could tell me whether to get the MULE or the SCOPAC
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I use a mannfrotto 190 CLB tripod , I have some pipe insulation foam taped onto the upper section of one tripod leg to cushion it against my shoulder. I also have an RSPB padded scope strap attached under the tripod head and also to the bottom of the central pillar for use if I'm walking any great distance.
I hear good things about the scopac but it doesnt suit my style of birding:((

I have the Mule from Cleyspy

I bought mine on ebay a couple of years ago at a much better price than this, I think it was about £20 + £5 postage and it was as good as new, hardly used, ironically I live about 25 miles from Cley as the goose flies but the person I bought the pack from lived in Aberdeen so it was returning home, some sort of gear migration :-)
I use it all the time, keeps your scope up out of the way when you don't really need it, although when I'm at Titchwell I often carry it over my shoulder so it's easier to get to.
Very comfortable to wear, and the pockets and detachable bag are good too.

Thanks for your responses, it was the mulepack that I was really considering. and Seymouraves, I think that,s his opinion also..I think his new tripod is the Manfrotto same as yours but he's a short a**e lol, and when folded up its still almost on the ground. Think I'll invest in one anyway. Thanks.
Opted for the SCOPAC in the end. OH wondering how he managed all this time without it. The difference when walking through fields etc he says is great. Doesn't know he's wearing it. Room for sannies and two bottles and field guide. Also handy when on the bike. So that was money well spent.
