Hi I have been in my house now for 5 years and every year I always had blue tits and robins in my garden and I would see them every morning especially of course in the winter , I done the bird watch last year to help with numbers and it’s made me realise how important they are and every bird is . And us as humans have a duty of care to look after them and their environment. But this year there seems to be non at all , they’ve disappeared, now I think that may be down to either one moving on to new habitats or more than likely the increase of cats in my area . My neighbour has two cats opposite me they don’t come in to my garden , but next door got a cat and now my other neighbour the other side of me has also got a cat and then I’ve seen another two more new cats from somewhere else all going in my garden … could this be the reason why the birds left ? I don’t think the cats would have got them because the blue tits and robins are quick and smart . If this is the case that the cats are scaring the birds . This is a real issue .
