Hi Merlin
Sorry, I am not knowledgeable enough to help you with your enquiry but I just wanted to say welcome to the forum. There are lots of folk here who will be able to guide you but they may not be on much over the weekend so don't despair if you don't hear back straight away.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi Merlin - welcome to the forum. I am no expert either and haven't used the telescope but I did have a pair of RSPB binouclars for about 25 years and they were the best I ever had.
The AG80 does give an excellent clear, sharp image even in low light situations. It also has a fantastic field of view so you can clearly observe A LOT at distance. The best peice of advice i can give though is to make sure you try before you buy. Depends on where you are, but i would recommend popping down to your nearest RSPB shop and go from there...
