Hello,
I am writing here to seek help regarding blue tit nest we have in our balcony. So we had a bird house nailed on the wall, the blue tit laid eggs and the chicks have hatched. There are 7-8 birds. Yesterday morning the bird house broke and fell on ground. We picked up the nest and kept the chicks inside it. We assembled the bird house and kept it on porch in the balcony, just below where it was originally kept. The parents are visiting the nest but is not entering the house and the chicks are not fed.
I am unsure if the mother had seen chicks fallen on the ground and is disturbed. Being concerned I thought it would be good to keep the fallen chicks safely back in the nest. Attaching the pictures here for more details.
Can you please help me on how can I handle the situation? If the mother doesn't attend, is it good to feed birds? And if yes, what can we feed them?
It may be that you have broken the clear line of sight that the bird needs to feel safe to enter also you must stay well away from the box as you could be putting the parents off ... I can only suggest that you contact this organisation to get expert advice on how to proceed ...

Hello I am in almost the same situation. I don't know if parents are going back to them. I have now left well alone but will check in a while to what happens.

Did you put the nest and chicks back in the box? Best thing to do is keep watch from a distance to see if parents come back and ring that number for helpwildlife on the link above as soon as possible!

I didn't wait anymore cuz the babies were starving. I contacted a rescue centre and gave them there. I'm in Luxembourg so contacted a helpline here and they were very quick and helpful.
I would suggest you to contact a helpline. I hope you can contact them and something works out soon.
