We have seen a single grey wagtail on a couple of occasions, in our garden,on the path. It stays for twenty minutes or so, before flying away. Lovely to watch.
Looking on the RSPB site, the grey wagtail appears to be relatively rare", but I am unsure if there is any significance in seeing this bird, other than our personal enjoyment.

How lovely to see a grey wagtail; do you have a water feature, pond which has attracted this grey wagtail to your garden ? UK has three different species of Wagtail: Grey, Pied and Yellow, Yellow Wagtail being the rarer bird. You can often see Pied Wagtails - even near shopping centres ! and Grey Wagtails tend to head for streams, ponds or other water areas. At our last house we had a large pond and had a semi resident grey wagtail who only left our garden for a few months during the breeding season and then she would return. Do you have any photos of the grey wagtail. Here are two photos showing a Grey Wagtail and a Pied Wagtail. hope you see it again; if you have any mealworms they will enjoy those as they love insect type food.

I couldn’t find where it says grey wagtails are rare? It would be wrong if it was saying that. Often visit gardens in Winter, though tend to be ones with gardens or near to streams and other small water courses.
Across part of a small park,,at tge end of our garden,is a rook.
