Woodland Bird Guide Book, Recommendation for Beginners

Can anybody recommend a good beginners’ guide book for woodland birds? In live in the south of England and my garden backs onto woodland. I sometimes only get a distant fleeting glance, so comprehensive detail about size/profile seems important. Not being able to peruse their content online, recommendations would really be appreciated.

  • Hi

try the complete Garden Bird Book by Stephen Moss - with paintings by the fabulous David Daly-

Should be findable on ebay :)

For advice about Birding, Identification, field guides,  binoculars, scopes, tripods,  etc - put 'Birding Tips'   into the search box

Thank you for replying. The book gets 5 stars on google and 4.5 on Amazon, so sounds like a good recommendation and I look forward to getting it. I appreciate your help as there were so many to choose from that I didn’t know where to begin.

    Many Thanks!
