I bought some seed about 6 months ago and it's now well out of date.Only about 25% has been used.The seed is even sprouting.Have been away from home for a few months and even the pigeons won't touch it.Seems a pity to throw it away but not sure what else, if anything, I can do with it.

I doubt it would be any good and could be risky using it so unfortunately I would say your only option is to ditch it and then maybe buy smaller quantities to store in a cool dry area. Sorry as I know it's expensive buying bird food.
