Birding Tips # rain

RAIN

Rain can be good for birding :)  It depends which direction it's coming from.

Onshore winds and rain make for good seawatching at the right time of year. Showers in spring and autumn cause migrants to drop in and after a good downpour birds are more active as they resume feeding.:)

Heavy showers or thunderstorms can drop unusual visitors in to your local reservoir.
