Hmm, ok, so Flickr hosted stuff may work.....

Mrs T - I test this kind of stuff for a living - give me a shout PM, maybe I can help your guys debug

Nope, didn't insert the pic.  Try again....

OK, so can do that.  Don't like using those URLs tho - better to use the normal ones, but seems it has to have a jpg extension.

  • Well I hate being negative but for me they've just spent two days making a complete mess of the community. Very very disappointed and I sincerely hope it's just teething troubles.

Oh and call me old-fashioned but I do NOT like the idea that the default (and only) language option is "US" English

  • I would be very interested to hear a reply from the Mods or someone from the RSPB who has designed this. I'm just so very disappointed with all these changes, which are just a detriment to these forums.

    Regards,

    Ian.

  • I managed to upload the above from Flickr, but it wasn't easy! Also, when you click on the picture it takes me straight to my Flickr page. Not what I was expecting.

    Cheers, Linda.

  • The Loch Garten blog used to have a list on the right hand side of each month and a count of how many posts had been made in that month.  Thus, it used to be very easy to see if there had been a new blog in the current month as the count went up.

What quick indication is there now that there is a new blog entry?

How do you get back to previous months quickly?

  • What chance some of us if Alan and others having problems, just hope RSPB does not lose members because of it.

Sparrow if you're still there try this..on the flickr photo right click on the photo and open in a new tab when you've picked a decent size (large) then just copy the address from the address bar then paste the link as normal and click on the preview pane

I don't get the option to open photo in a new tab or even in a new window. When I right click on the Flickr photo it just opens on its own to the film strip thing. My Flickr pages are almost as slow at uploading as this site. Lol. Not to worry.

    Cheers, Linda.

  • Hi all,

I'm Frankie, one of the techy bods here at the RSPB. First up I'd like to thank you for all the feedback; we're working on a number of issues that you've reported.

I wanted to re-assure you all that we're working as quickly as possible to get this site ship shape and Bristol fashion.

We've not forgotten you, it's really the start of the process, more an undecorated room than a forgotten one.

@MrsT will be helping to collate all your feedback and address as many as we can as quickly as possible.

All I can say is bear with us over the coming few days, we'll get there!

  • One question WHY OH WHY OH WHY IS THIS SITE CRASHING MY PHONE AND LAPTOP. WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THIS UPGRADE
