I also noticed this ! . Surely there is a program installed in the setting up of user names in the system ??? I,m no computer wizard but thats surely basics ?...

I agree, there should be a safeguard somewhere.
It gives a feeling the program setup could be open to ID sabotage {hmm}

This is getting silly, and the technical people need to sort it out somehow. Your idea of being able to see a list of members names would seem to be the easiest to do.
I have written to the other sparrow to ask him/her to consider changing the name.
This is the third duplicated name in as many days.

Yes, IMHO a list of names is the next move for the mods/admin to consider. I think it will be Monday before anything can be mentioned/done {hmm}
Meantime just watch what is going on here {wink}
Just so every1 knows i have changed my 'nickname' to Neil, as its better and when signed up thought there would of been more 'on this site'. Hope NOT to confuse any1 and hopes this little problem we have gets sorted soon ;)

It is mad, and there must be people on the outside of this site who are doing this on purpose now. It is too coincidental to have so many duplications in such a short time
I feel it is going to happen again unless we all watch out for each others profiles (of established people on the RSPB Forum)
Hopefully the IP Addresses will be noted just in-case
Has anyone contacted waxwing 2 over the name duplication ? John, you must stay as waxwing. Sandy was quite happy to change from blackbird when I pointed out the situation to her.
