Taking action

I have resisted comment all weekend but having got just a bit fed up I decided that if the monkeys were not working I'd go seek out some organ grinders. Please note the following message has been sent to all the appropriate authorities:

'An individual reporting to be from Barnsley has been 'invading' the RSPB forum this weekend. This would not normally be something that I would report to the South Yorkshire Police / Social Services / RSPCA / Firearms Licensing Authority / Pigeon Clubs / Pigeon racing authorities but given his obsessions with fire arms, killng raptors (a crime to which he has confessed online) and paedophillia, I thought you should investigate. I have sent the following message to the RSPB forum moderators, they have so far failed to take action:

"Your forum moderators and the RSPB chiefs in general need to take some serious action, and I mean serious, about the character calling himself 'pigeon' on the forum. His behaviour over the weekend has been at the very least disgusting, offensive, damaging to the RSPB, and very likely criminal. He says he is a pigeon fancier and has admitted to owning a gun and using it to kill raptors. He also claims to have friends who do the same. He lives in Barnsley, works and has a partner and a 17 month old daughter. Other comments he has made give further information about his ways of thinking and personal details. Given his obsession with paedophillia, various sexual acts and violence, I would be exceedingly worried about the safety of his young daughter, if she actually exists. It is obviously your duty to report this individual, in full, to the necessary authorities; which in the first instance alone would include: The local police force, the fire arms licencing authorities, The RSPB, Barnsley Social Services, the local pigeon fanciers and pigeon racing groups, the national pigeon racing groups. I will be taking a copy of this message and sending it to the above authorities so they are alerted to the issue, they will, no doubt, expect to hear from you as a matter of some urgency. I will myself await an answer from you to assure me that you have taken the necessary action promptly and professionally, as is your duty." '

  • Brilliant post, Bella and thank you. It's been so unpleasant on the forum since Friday evening that I haven't wanted to come on it.

It does seem that the Mods have been stirred into action. If it's down to you a double thank you. Thanks also to Katie who has presumably had to come in on a Sunday.

  • Hi everyone

I've just posted a response to the 'Moderators: what's the point' thread over here:

    www.rspb.org.uk/.../342626.aspx

Since there have already been more than 130 posts on this topic (with many suggestions made and doubtless some emails sent), I'm going to lock this thread too so that we can get back to talking about wildlife.

    Thanks,

    Katie
