The list of People online is wrong and seems to display different information at different times.
The reason for this is that the Community is actually running on several different web servers. The list of people you see are the other people using the same server as you.
This is a bug in the Community software. The list should be the total number of people online across all servers.
We have reported this to the manufacturers of the software and are awaiting a response.
