Hope someone can help - My page says I haven't updated my status - what does that mean? Also, I have received a request via RSPB Community e-mail to be a friend which I accepted but can't seem to be able to send friend message. Thank you.
There are lots of us out here would love to be your friend, message works really well, best wishes, you sound so nice would like to be your friend.
Hi pudweena
It just means that the message which can appear under your name hasn't been changed from the default. You don't have to do anything but if you want to put something brief like what you are doing at the moment you can. To do this click on the Change Status link on your profile page and enter a message and press Update.
If you click on the Friends tab on your profile page you will see your friends listed. If your new friend is there you will see a send message link in blue. Click on that and compose your message. If your friend's name isn't there something will have gone wrong with the acceptance.

Hi Pudweena
Where it says you haven't updated your status, it means that you haven't typed a short comment in your box on your profile page.
To update it all you need to do is click on Update Status, and type in a couple of words.
My one says 'I'm a keen amateur', but I'm sure you can think of a short comment.
It's different to the box below where you can insert more information about yourself, when you are Editing your Profile by pressing the box on the right hand side.
Best wishes Chris

Thanks so much Teejay, Woodpecker and Chris for helping me out - I was beginning to think maybe I'm too old to learn new things! My contact has now been successful and I will think of a short comment to put on my page. I must admit I think I might find the new format all rather complicated with too many links for me to add much, just hope I don't add things in the wrong places, though sure someone will correct me if so! At the moment I find I am spending far too long on the computer but hope I will improve.
Apologies, Chris, just noted your name added at end of post.
