I like to use Word to reply to peoples' posts and so need to use the Word Window to insert my text. But at the moment it isn't doing that , and, of course, it doesn't do to just paste from Word directlly into the reply window, does it. Rhetorical question . Please help me. Thank you.

This reply was sent by pasting from word!
It's both what you do and the way that you do it!
You cannot fly like an eagle with the wings of a wren. William Henry Hudson (1841 - 1922)
type what you want in the word document copy and thhen use ctl and v to paste it into the window, you can still use the other option like quote, picture etc.
Trying again then mpiekp and thank you.
Surely this problem can't just affect one group can it? Cirrus' posts using Word actually jammed threads in the Loch Garten Ospreys group.
There must be more to this than meets the eye. Will try it for myself over there and see what happens.

Testing using word, which I never normally use. I usually just type straight in the reply box. I shall copy this then paste straight to the reply box using Control + v
EDIT: It worked!
Cheers, Linda.

Chloe, odd's on whatever went wrong, it broke the frame of that particular thread, if he deletes his post it should be fine.
Just tried it for myself. I copied and pasted (using right click method) directly from Word into the reply box (rich text format) for one message and and then via the 'Word box' for the second. Both worked absolutely fine.
Cirrus could not delete her post as it 'stuck' with only the very top of the post showing. Therefore no facility to edit or delete.

Hi ChloeB
I'm not sure if Cirrus pasted into the special Word box or not, but it seems to work if you use it. In fact I think that's an improvement over the old Community, as we no longer see all of the HTML code bits
Best wishes Chris

On my post a bit earlier, I didn't use the special Word box at all. I just pasted it direct to the reply box without clicking anything special at all.
I only used the Word box, and when you click on it, a box comes up for you to paste into using Ctrl+V. That works, but I think it was just posting without clicking on the Word box that broke the thread.
Maybe the techies could give us some guidance on this topic
