Squish List

Ladies and Gentlemen (and anything inbetween)

We have many posts with issues post upgrade, can we use this thread to collect them, more chance of getting things changed.

My biggest gripe, is the default resolution, the css frame is too large for the content (although very pretty)

Temp work around use the view function of your browser ( crtl and + will work on most desktop/laptops).

Mobile devices have their own way (usually a pinch on the touch screen).

It's both what you do and the way that you do it!

I feel the new format is growing on me now and it is a great place to be in its new way.

There are lots of plus points... now after some posting and seeing what new features there are on the go

Yes, I agree with people that here are a lot of posts about the new layout of the Forum on the go now - hopefully all will settle down in due course.

    So much to learn here

  • Just posting in this thread soo I know where it is.

  • Hi-

sadly the forum isnt growing on me yet- I'm holding on waiting for some simplification :)

1 -  I fear new visitors without experience of sophisticated forums and jargon will struggle with it.

2- the Mods arent around enough bearing in mind the current problems IMHO there should be a higher profile / presence  - maybe not 18 hours a day,  but a presence . As I've said b4 I've been training mods for 6 years now, they go through a selection process, and do training bfore being let loose on the net- and English isnt even their first language (ad they don't get paid...  )  They also stay in touch with mods at other similar sites to pass on info about  troublemakers.  Read between the lines on that one people. :)

3- When it comes to design- K.I.S.S.  ( If you have to ask, you'll never know)

ps- anyone know if Pipit jumped or was pushed?

Let's see if this post gets me banned -

  • Hi doggie- read my posts today and do the jig saw :)  The RSPB ( bless 'em) are more PC than they used to be-

  • Hi S we're not not in the habit of banning people for having opinions so you're quite safe, for now! ;o)

As for a moderator presence, we're doing our best, it's a learning curve for us as it is for everyone else. We are very sorry for the inconveniences caused by the gremlins but hopefully the improvements that are being made will make it easy for everyone to use.

For those used to the old system, including the moderators, the new layout is very different and is taking a while to get used to but it's getting clearer day by day.

  • Can you please add "breadcrumbs" to the forum pages.

    Example:

From this page, if you want to go back to the list of threads in the "Technical Problems" forum, you can't. You have to click Forums, then select the Tech Probs forum link again.

    This is a pain.

This page should have linked breadcrumbs as:

Chat > Technical Problems > Squish List

This is used widely on the web as the standard for forum navigation. Why have the designers of this forum not thought to include such a basic forum necessity.

    This new forum is dreadful.

  • All of the issues mentioned in this thread have been logged. Individual issues will be dealt with as separate threads in Technical problems. This thread is now locked.
