I've noticed the same problem over the last two or three days. Perhaps it's something to do with tackling the issue of multipul notifications.

I'm sure it's because a number of us 'complained' about receiving numerous notifications about the same post (8 or 10 was my experience) and then a lot of us started to receive notifications about very old posts that were already 'done and dusted'. The Tech folk are obviously trying to rectify this.
