Inserting animated gifs

If I insert an animated gif file why does it convert to a non animated pgn file please

Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain.
~ Mark Twain

  • That happens on loads of site's, there have been many exploits triggered by gif, so loads of fora do this

It's both what you do and the way that you do it!

You cannot fly like an eagle with the wings of a wren.
    William Henry Hudson (1841 - 1922)

  • If you click on it, the enlargement is animated though and this never used to happen. There are no viruses in gif files
Maybe they just loose the will to live the server is so slow

gifs are not animated if you load them into RSPB webspace. However if you load them into your own webspace and then copy them into your post the animation works. See my tiger.

  • ooh tiger thats too technical for me what or where is my own webspace

Well you normally get some free with your ISP account. Or you can get lots if you open a Photobucket account. I am sure there are lots of places where webspace is available. Everything you see on the internet is stored on webspace somewhere or other.

I see you store pictures at Flickr. That is a webspace. Can you store animation there?

    Success. Well done.

Webspace is one of the harder concepts to grap but it is a very exciting one.
