Multiple Notifications of the samemessage

Fixed but foxed.

We thought that we'd fixed the problem some time ago but something happened that made it come back. These forums are complex. For some reason the program that sends the emails used to exist in 6 different places on the server, and we have two servers running - so when the problem first occured you could get up to 12 copies.  We were able to reduce the number of places down to two on each server and we told the system to ignore three of these, meaning you could now only get 1 email. A gremlin removed the instruction to ignore, and so you saw that you got up to 4 emails.

Hopefully the gremlin has gone, but at least we now know how to fix the issue. So, thanks for letting us know.

OH NO! I just got 2 notifications - so the gremlin is back......

Hi Frank, thanks for attending to this for us so promptly.  As you now know, we are getting two responses, which we can handle without too much problem if it can't be fixed.  Would it be perhaps, one response from each server?

No, you'll still receive the monthly e-newsletter as that's done via a separate system.

Normally I often get multiple replies but today I've just been getting one copy of each message.  Perhaps the technical people have ironed out this gremlin.  Mind you I'll say no more before I start to tempt fate ;-)
