Hi big robbo
This thread seems to have corrupted the forum because it has gone blue at the top
Rather than copy and paste all of the document that shows the error, you should insert the link to the page instead.
Is it possible to Edit your original post and remove that page from it so that the forum reverts to normal?
Click on Edit and remove all of the text you copied and pasted
Best wishes Chris

Sorry about that Woodpecker and everybody else.
When i try to download and pictures I get a "server error in community application" message and it won't allow me to put any photo's on the forum.
When I joined the forum a month or so back I had no problems at all.
Hi Big Robbo
Well done! It's gone back to normal.
The only times I have ever had problems with photos are either when they aren't Jpeg's or they are too big.
I can only suggest that you reduce their size and make sure they are Jpegs then try again. What usually happens is that the time just runs out when it's trying to upload large photos.
Hi Woodpecker.
Thanks for that ,I'll give it a go later.
There do seem to be gremlins on the site these last few days. However, I nearly always have to downsize my photos before they'll be accepted on this site: I use a resizing site called " http://www.picresize.com/
which does the trick for me!
Hi Lindybird and Woodpecker.
Thank you both for your advice, I think I have sussed the problem now. ;-)
I use my flickr pics now, rather than downsize the orignal jpegs. I open the picture in large, right click, and save image as.., and the file sizes are always less than a meg. The only big files on Flickr are the originals, everything else it automatically resized for web.

I use Lightroom for all my images which means that, as any edits I do are non destructive, I have to export an up-loadable image and I have a pre-set for this forum that sets an image to 80% JPEG of not more than 3.5 MB
I've only ever had one failure and that was around the time of the BGBW last weekend so was understandable
Best regardsNigel

I never try to upload photos that large onto this forum, I would always be sitting by the PC waiting for them to load.
I think Ponty's idea is a good one, but I don't upload all of my photos onto Flickr.
The longest side you can see on most computer screens is 1024 pixels so there isn't any point in having them bigger than that.
