Hi,
when opening forum threads today there is NO OPTION TO REPLY.
Therefore It's a bit hard to contribute today.

Hi Seymour - I've just been posting replies with no problem - is it at your end???
no it only affects certain forums as you see:)
This one is fine
It took me ages to log into the RSPB website this morning (don't all cheer!!!!)
Perhaps it's part of the improvements they are making to the site?

Hi Seymour
Thanks for the heads-up. :-)
I have only just logged-on so I haven't tried any other forums yet.
This one loaded quickly enough for me just now.
Best wishes Chris

Is there any news on the upgrades? Very slow for me most of the time (hence me not being here much lately....) and have far more 'unread' posts than I can possibly catch up with!

Constantly getting 'page unavailable' when trying to add posts (so have to remember to copy the text, ready to paste when the page finally loads again as the text has vanished!)
Hi MarJus,
The latest on the upgrade is that the new servers are being prepared and tested. There is a truly enormous amount of stuff to move across from the current system to the new one. Then it all has to be tested to make sure it works as it should. Once that has been done the new system has to be "load tested" to make sure it can cope with the pressure of our busiest periods (like Big Garden Birdwatch).
There is not a definite go live date as yet but we are getting closer by the day.
I hope this helps.
Graham

Hi Graham
Thank you for keeping us informed on the new upgrades.
Looking forward to posting in a new Forum outlay

Thank goodness, hope the upgrade is a success...... I go on a lot of websites and this one has to be the slowest , flakiest I've ever encountered, which is a great shame.
Kind regards,
Mike
