I'm getting this a lot when I try to open a link via an RSPB emails I've received. I think they're mainly from the "tea room" part of the forum.

Happens a lot Richard.I am hoping when they get the new host, things will improve greatly.I know they are having ongoing problems though.
An optimist sees the beauty of the complete rose.A pessimist sees only the thorn .
This does happen sometimes, rhodopsin - I think we've all had this at one time or another : - (
They have had problems this week, that's for sure, but I join in with others who are looking forward to improvements in September.
Well, I guess I must be the lucky one, touch wood! As I do not get these error messages.I did have problems yesterday getting onto the Forums, but that was because one of the Servers had crashed again!
As an ex-IT support guy I would say it could be a combination of things. Well, I would say that, wouldn't I? :)
The first thing people do is blame the Website concerned without first looking at their own setup.Having said that, this Site has its problems and I would say that, in this case, this Site probably is the root problem. But it will also be, at times, a high volume of Users together with possibly a slow Broadband connection at the local end. A sort of 'time out'....
Another reason could be the way people use their Browsers. For me personally, I click on 'Posts You Have Not Read' and, when in there, I right-click and open another Tab on Posts I'd like to read. Once read, I close the Tab and carry on.....refreshing the Tab every now and then.
I regularly do housekeeping on the PC, mainly empting Browsers; Recycle Bin etc.
Don't forget - your Anti-Virus program could also be slowing up or interfering with the connection.
It would be interesting:
A. Who gets problemsB. Which time of dayC. Your Home PC/Broadband setupD. Is it a one-off or continual problems
In any case, as has been said - roll on September. But don't think for a minute it will end all the problems. Most but not all. Think teething for one thing! :)
I'm off down the Local!
Cheers, Graham

Hi Graham, there was a thread recently that said there was a 50 50 chance of getting onto the forum. An ongoing problem which is hopefully as you mentioned, going to be resolved in September.Luckily,i can usually get in but find it incredibly slow most of the time.Agree, regarding the teething probs.
I am with BT and this is the only site i have problems with.It is continual, as in soooooo slow.
Enjoy your trip to the Local.
I have just poured a glass of white and am off for a long hot soak ha ha.
Richard,
Those that came this morning were old posts the mods have deleted, which is why the page was not found.
Cheers, Linda.
