A new tech problem?

Hi.  We had this kind of problem some time ago, & nearly everything we tried to do was met with a similar message.  Can only say wait a while and then try again - it could be that it is a busy day and the site can't cope, or the site may be having a technical problem which will be resolved eventually. ( I know this can be very frustrating!  :-)  )

Sometimes it is a piece of cake and others it is a nightmare.I think when the new host takes over in i think,September things may get better.This is definitely the slowest site i know.

I have found that my posts fail at times like you, and I think you just have to work around it the best way you can.

Just before I press the post button for any new posts I copy the text as a chunk and if the posting fails - I go back in and paste the same text in once again - best way me thinks.

It is annoying when you spend a lot of time explaining yourself/posting photos to someone on the RSPB, or you have written out a report to show your interest to have it lost for whatever reason

Fair enough if you are not interested in your subject, but like you Seymour, I care abut my subject so it is annoying to deal with at times.   The text disappears so you never find it again {sigh}

So my suggestion is save it under copy text (I have posted new text into Word software at times, and that is another safeguard but the problem with that I have one line of unwanted text when I copy the text back into the RSPB forum)

So all we can do is try the best we can even though the software is silly at times.

I have had that problem, but only when the post exceeds 4MB.

As long as I keep everything under 4MB then it can cope with that download size. If everybody were allowed to post any sized file then the server would grind to a halt. :)

It's the weekend. maybe they are saving space on the server :-) (joke)

Did I hear tell of a new IT platform in September?  I hope so 'cos I'm about ready to hang-up my avatar and jack all this in.

I simply don't have time to wait several minutes for threads to open etc.
