Hi all, I have a robin nesting in a hose reel on the side of the house, right by my back door/recycling area. It flew out when I went out there earlier -- I had thought it had abandoned the nest a couple of weeks ago so hadn't altered our use of the alleyway. I'm happy to not use the hose reel and try to take our recycling out through the house so as not to disturb it BUT I really fear for it nesting there. It's only a couple of feet off the ground and there are predators in the garden -- cats come in (to use it as a litter tray mostly) fox poo is often found on the lawn and our neighbour saw a massive rat in his garden recently. So although I'm loath to, I'm wondering if it would be best to remove the nest before the robin lays any eggs in the hope it will find somewhere safer?
Hi Emmy, although I appreciate your concern for the location of this Robin nest I have to say that it's illegal to interfere with it in any way and as hard as it might be to observe you must leave it to nature! that the Robin has already decided not to lay any eggs there!

Yes I thought that might be the case so I will leave well alone. Thanks for your reply.
