We were walking yesterday on the edge of Thetford forest on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. There are a lot of conifers in the area. It was getting dark about 5pm. On a satellite dish on a house roof next to a long thin field we saw an owl. Clearly moving. Sorry about the image quality but it was quite dark and not that close. You can clearly see the owl has quite long ears.We didn't hear any calls.
Love to know any info?

It could well be a Long Eared Owl. But difficult to tell with the photo. Did you know that what look like Ears on both Ling and Short Eared Owls aren't actually ears at all. But that is why both type of Owls are so named
