It's just appalling.

Words fail me. That is so awful. The poor thing probably had a mate on a nest somewhere.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
The problem is when the authorities do find the ones responsible, all they get is a tap on the wrist, the law and the sentence needs to be brought up to date with reality,
always many sides to an argument
Grandmamac absolutely shocking and as robin red says the ones reponsilbe get off too lightly.
Too much of this goes on.
Not sure how we will ever stop this barbaric act,it takes place in such wild areas that there is lttle chance of polcing the law.We have a similar problem in our area ,raptors seem to vanish down a black hole in certain areas of the Dales but to catch the culprits must be a very hard task for the police or other authorities

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
This kind of thing bugs the hell out of me. Poisoning, regardless of what it's aimed it is indiscriminate and cruel. The simple fact is that until attitudes change regarding wild predators and raptors in particular we'll always have this problem. Persecution from a minority of land owners and game keepers is seriously hindering the recovery of our native raptor species. It's no surprise those most affected are considered most in conflict with field sports.
So basically a convicted criminal had an illegal stash of a highly toxic substance (half a kilo could take down 200 or more adult humans).
Irrespective of the Golden Eagle matter, if I was the Procurator Fiscal I'd be throwing the key away.......
Every day a little more irate about bird of prey persecution, and I have a cat - Got a problem with that?
I get the feeling tht nothing drastic will be done until (heaven forbid )a human life is affected. It is so indiscriminate pets are very much at risk besides humans
I wait to see what punishment is dealt out here, With all the hot air the Scottish Government has been sprouting about getting tough on wildlife crime, I think its high time they practised what the preach.
