Egg collector Matthew Gonshaw has got a six month prison sentence, and an ASBO preventing him from traveling to Scotland during the breeding season for 10 years. He's also been prevented from visiting RSPB and Wildlife Trust reserves for the same time. This is his FOURTH prison sentence!!!
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Well short prison sentences clearly aren't working. It's about time he and others like him got 6 years, not 6 months.
Cheers, Linda.

To be fair, I think at long last we have a very good outcome. Maximum prison sentence AND a total restriction on going anywhere near what are presumably his main target areas for 10 years.

Sorry but the ASBO is just a nonsense. It'll only hurt if he gets stopped.
I could get into Scotland and well up to the sort of nests he wants without being spotted.

God gave us two ears and one mouth for a very good reason!
Technology is the answer. A GPS equipped ankle tag with a few grammes of C4 that detonates if he sets foot in any proscribed locations. Do you think I could get on Dragon's Den with that one?
Every day a little more irate about bird of prey persecution, and I have a cat - Got a problem with that?
Give it a whirl! LOL

We might agree to disagree on that one Jenni. Yes you could but you haven't got an ASBO. If his car is seen or recorded through Operation Easter he won't get very far.
He might if he borrowed Jenni's car! LOL Or any hired one. He isn't daft enough to use his own.

Agree with that, Bob. The sentence sends the right message to any would be egg collectors.

Let's just hope any others get the message.
