I see our home county of beautiful North Yorkshire has come tops again, for crime against birds of prey.Apparently there were more crimes reported in N.Yorks than all of Scotland,I may think twice about bragging about how wonderful North Yorkshire is in future

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
Hi Seaman
Hats off to people who investigate wildlife crime
Threats aren't uncommon
Ray
a good laugh is better than a tonic
We are good terms with our local wildlife crime officer Ray and even he and other constables have been threatened so the situation for "civvies" like investigators may be worse'I know that if we park our car (or at least our old one) in certain areas it often caught the attention of local estate workers, one reaon for not having wildlife type stickers on it
I know its not wild life but worked with an ex dog handler on security
Just before retiring he was parked in old town Barnsley and heard noises.
He came across two hefty lads pulling machines off a shop wall.
When he told them they were under arrest they told him he was too old and go away or he would get hurt.
He went back to his van, got his two dogs out, went bacck to the offenders and said these are about your age aren't they.
No need to tell you of the outcome.
Nice one Ray,love it,but what about their rights ? the dogs I mean not the toerags
believe me the dogs loved it Seaman
this was in the days when a policeman, schoolteacher and parent were respected
Remember it well Ray,if the local bobby gave you a cuff round the ear you did not complain at home or els you may get another. Not as brutal as it may sound to some as you say respect for people and their property
Ray, I liked the story of the dogs. As a young bobby I remember being sent to my first pub fight and taking off at a fast run. The first reaction of the old stager training me was "now slow down, it will be a lot easier to deal with if they are tired out first". 30 years later I could understand that.

No keep bragging Seaman its good when someone loves their own county or adopted one and Yorkshire is great just some problems like everywhere else.
