Saw this while out walking and a foot path alongside the field with a horse grazing.
Its big enough for a small pony to enter or a stray dog or sheep.
bit worried that a nosy child could get hurt.
What do you think. Ray
a good laugh is better than a tonic
It looks like an animal trap of some sort. Badger or fox?
Cin J
You didnt happen to see the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang sculking around? LOL.
A very old Shropshire Lad.
Hi Germain
I thought fox as there were chicken feathers nearby, But the trap is massive.
May contact the RSPCA
Ray
Hi CHRIS
If there had been anybody handing sweets out I would have been in there
Good luck with contacting the RSPCA. Another thought is has somebody lost a large dog in the area?
Certainly does not look like a bird trap, maybe for a large mammal but not sure.Whas there any sign of any bait?
Pete
Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
hi Seaman
there was just the odd chicken feathers on the outside.
will have another walk and see if I can get a closer look.
Hi all
This looks like a live capture cage trap intended for catching foxes. The terms and conditions for the legal use of such traps can be found on the link here.
Warden Intern at Otmoor.
Thanks for that Ian
Sounds like it could be legal and is only at the rear of the farm so probably getting checked daily
will take another walk that way
There is a horse in the field and a footpath about 20yds away in the same field
