The Our Rivers campaign is this year running a survey, it only takes a few minutes to complete and gives you a chance to comment on what wildlife you see at your local river and asks a few questions about the state of the UK's rivers and what people use them for.
If you can spare a few minutes to participate it would be much appreciated, click the link here to take you to the start on the Our Rivers website.

Hi Ian,
Just wondering - is this an England and Wales survey?

I don't think so, I put my river in and it brought up another option to select which part of Scotland I was in :-)

Yes, I saw that option, Kat, but the RSPB News Page specifically mentions the collection of information from Engalnd and Wales.
I have done it but it seems a very lightweight survey to me. It will be interesting to see what use is made of it.

God gave us two ears and one mouth for a very good reason!
Done it too, and like Jenni said they didnt seem to want to know a lot?

I agree with Jenni, too. The question about which birds you see is certainly lightweight. There is a box for "others" but no facility to say which "others", and I see several "others" on our river!
Thanks for taking the time to have a look at the survey. The counties section contains Scottish counties so it does apply to Scotland.
As for the questions asked, the survey is focusing on the key species that are found on UK rivers and is focussing on whether people have noticed a decline. The last couple of questions are interesting and it will be interesting to see what the general perceptions are about what is the biggest threat to our rivers. What is everyones opinion on that?
All Done I was quite surprised to see my local river on the list as this end of the country is usually ignored
