I started a thread back in June regarding an incident of hare coursing. Since then, the WPO and a local police officer have been very diligent in following up the incident and keeping me informed regarding developments in this case. Some progress has been made.
It was interesting to learn that reports of possible crimes made by the public to the police are graded on a scale 1 - 5, with 5 being the most serious. Hare coursing is graded at level 4 and should be dealt with by the police as a matter of urgency. Not sure if this is a local or national system.
My recent experience has really boosted my confidence that wildlife crime is taken seriously, at least in my area.

Agood job not only for the sake of the wildlife but for the rural community around, the sight of a bobby still helps fight crime even in this day and age, though many think different to me.
