Election fever

Tomorrow, we hit the polls for 5 elections.

Our new director has brought up an interesting angle, worth reading.

  • Hi M

    Thanks for this link.

I found Mark A's blog absolutely fascinating and I'm looking forward to reading Martin's views too. From what I've read so far I think he's going to do a good job and build on Mark's legacy (his words)

I see Martin joined the RSPB in 2004 but I'm very pleased he has been given the 'dream job' of Conservation Director.

Yes, these views on the elections and the RSPB role in it all are very interesting.

    Thanks

    Pipit

  • This is the first time I have found anything of interest in tomorrows election, may have a rethink after reading this

You mean you're not riveted by the AV discussion?????

I would read all the 'for' and 'against' literature coming through the door if I could stay awake long enough!!!

    Tee hee

Tell me about it!  I had to try and explain to a collegue what AV meant the other day.

Working all day tomorrow (12 hours) so hopefully I'll have time to go and cast my vote, though I still don't have a clue who I'm voting for.

AV is a bit of a difficult one to get your head round :)

I'm a card carrying Labour Party member but no longer an activist since the Blair years and their attitude to war :(

I'm going to vote Yes to AV, after much contemplation.

Whatever colour you are, I think it's vital to cast your vote, especially if you are a woman. Votes for Women were very hard fought for, don't forget!!!

    Cheers

ALL votes for the general populus were very hard fought for ... so get out there and do it!

    Seriously thinking about trying harder!

  • Hi Pipit

That's interesting as you're the only person I've heard of who says they will vote Yes.

I will be voting No without any contemplation LOL

    Best wishes Chris

    Hi Chris

I've thought long and hard about it and I believe AV is a fairer system despite its drawbacks. More democratic in the long run, and English democracy is becoming a rare thing these days.
