Hi there

I was looking at Scottish Wildlife Trust 'Events and activities Booklet', and on the 21st April 2011 there is a meeting at Melville Street and talk about 40 years of the Lothian Conservation Volunteers based in Edinburgh.

I will go there for that day via cheap flight by Easyjet for the day, stay with a friend, and meet up with my old friends all together form all those years ago - 7.30pm at Melville street, Edinburgh.

If anyone reads this thread on here, and remembers about this group of people, (that includes the groups from Stirling Conservation Groups etc....), and had been involved in the last 20 years ago please get in contact here as i would love to meet you once more.

In the meantime, I am going to get in contact with a few people for a get together and make a special occasion of this evening out - will go to the ends of the earth for a good old meet up even if it includes a drink after the talk at Melville Street.

Cannot wait for this date now!!!!

Regards

Kathy and Dave

    Cannot wait to meet my conservation friends, as we go back a long way now.  Great friends anyday.

    Back to my age of 21 years old, and I was never on any Forums at that age - let alone on e-mails except at work LOL {big smile}

    Just proved I meet people in real life, and not always in cyberland

    Hi there

    The big event is this Thursday now

    Got the train tickets for my birth place Edinbugh.  I cannot even remember last time I ever took a London to Edinburgh train.  I bought off peak tickets

    Will stay at my close friends house for 2 nights - one for the meeting and the other for a girlie chat and a meal

    Cannot wait to see the golden oldies friends of the conservation world LOL now - it is nerve racking to be honest and I feel the butterflies in my stomach starting up already. - like a school reunion

    Regards

    Hi Jenny

    Thank you such a lot for your support here  {big smile}

    Need that extra support on here, and to go to Scotland is a scarey prospect funnily enough!!

    Nerve wrecking as it is, and how it feels at the moment.

    Regards

    Hi Jenny

    I think I said the wrong things in my former post on here, and I tell you on your profile how I feel. about things on your profile instead.

    Cannot wait to see and hear from my closest friends now - and I have meet them face to face over the years too.

    Regards

    Hi there

    Fabulous journey by rail up the east coast, and the fog banks over the sea where something else.  Meet a couple of people on the train and had a chin wag about life in general

    Weather is dull here - so where is the sunshine for us here today.   Edinburgh has gone through so many environmental changes now it is hard to see the place in the same light now.

    Great meeting of minds last night at the Scottish Wildlife Trust (AGM) meeting and met my Lothian Conservation Volunteers friends of all those years.  Glad to hear that they are well and are in involved in the Committee (Scottish Wildlife Trust) too - One is Chairman now {thumbs up T.D.}

    Some of the slide show showed the older members doing various tasks such as tree planting, and path building.

    We went out for a drink and caught up on things form the past to the present.  Got some more up to date e-mail addresses.  It just shows that Wildlife friends last for life - and long may the contact continue.  One of the members sails and now he knows that we do too!

    Happy 40 years to the LCV!!!!

    Regards

    Kathy and Dave
