International Serengeti Day 19/3/11

Tomorrow is the first International Serengeti Day.

Whats this all about? Well there are plans to build a stonking great highway right across the Serengeti which will affectively create a barrier for the great migration of wildebeest. This proposal has the potential to devastate this eco-system. The International Serengeti day will hopefully raise awareness to the catastrophic impact this development would have on wildlife, habitats and the people who rely on the wildlife and tourism for their livings, and put pressure on the decision makers to dismiss these plans, so please join us in our campaign to save the Serengeti. You can read more about the Seregeti Day here and find out more about how to help our campaign here.

We would welcome any comments of support and your assistance with this would be much appreciated.

    Dear Sir,

I am strongly against the construction of the Serengeti highway and must remind you of the ecological importance of this site and the international commitments you have signed up to.

You must provide assurances that the environmental impact assessment process is participatory and ensure ALL stakeholders can input to the process.

You must also consider the proposed alternative route that follows the Southern perimeter of the park thereby avoiding the devastating effects to such precious wild-life.

There are so many human errors made regarding our wild friends.PLEASE, do not make this another.

    Yours sincerely,

    I hope this helps :0)
