  • It sounds as though the people started the centre with the best of intentions and then run out of money but maybe did not like to lose face and admit they could not cope,unfortunately it is the innocent birds that suffer in the end.In these days of more financial hardship this may happen more often,not sure how we can monitor this.

  • Seaman,  I would agree.  I do remain sceptical of animal sanctuaries.  Whilst there are some long standing and very good ones, there are a few around which are set up with all the right intentions and then can't say no to any animal.  There is very little money around and all this results in some awful conditions.
