Don't know how many of you have seen this, but I literally could not believe this!! How ridiculous! I can't believe he actually kicked it out the way after already hitting it with the ball!! ...the owl was taken to an animal hospital but sadly died :( And now this guy is complining that he's been recieving death threats! Did he really think he could do that and people wouldn't be angry??

I saw this on Sky Sports news a couple of days ago. The guy is not human. It is hard to believe that anyone could be so heartless. A warning to all, it is really sickening.

Let not your heart be troubled
Hi Sarah
I saw this article on my other Forum and thought it was a bit grim to add here as it is upsetting to see.
The videos show exactly what this sad excuse of a person did to the Barn Owl. It is a mascot to the opposing team. Maybe that is why this horrible person kicked the Owl as he did.
Why use a live BoP as a mascot in the first place?
One printed newspaper story said that due to the Barn Owl dying, it was an open door to getting it stuffed - who are they kidding or do they have a 'nasty' sense of humour.
If the footballer is getting death threats serves him right!

Hi Sarah, I read this in yesterdays paper and my first thought was "what a pratt" The Owl was adopted as the home clubs mascot and had freedom of the stadium. Imagine one of our overpaid players doing that on live TV in this country !!!! He would be Slaughtered....and I would be 1st in the cue!
Feed The Birds....not the cats!!!!
I know....my spelling's crap !!
Hi all
It's just incomprehensible that this idiot could do such a thing.
It comes as no surprise that he is receiving death threats. Did he think that no-one would notice?
Best wishes Chris

I've only just noticed this thread. I read the article and, rather ill-advisedly, watched the video.
I am in floods of tears and feel physically sick.
I am just so disgusted. Having had one of the worst days in a great number of years of my life, this really has been the straw that broke the camel's back, and made me lose all faith in humanity. How anybody could be so callous towards another living creature which was completely, totally, and uttelry innocent, is beyond me.
Had I been there, I think I might have been on the news myself.
Honestly, what is wrong with people? It was a football game for God's sake, how can that be so important to someone that they feel the need to kick a defenceless creature and ultimately cause it's death????
Hi Anna
I came to your reply to this thread and felt for you, I'm sorry it came at the end of a bad day for you and I hope things will improve for you from now on.
Regarding this disgusting incident I am a great believer in the saying "what goes around comes around" and hopefully in this footballers case it will be sooner rather than later.
Take care
Shane

Hadn't had the time to look at the footage till this am. Having watched it myself decided that I would show the 2 eldest + see what they thouhght, felt about this .They thought that the kick by the ball was an accicent, well ok it hopefully was, but were both as appalled as I was at the player's reaction!!
What is it with folk as Anna says. So sorry that this came at the end of an already bad day. Hugz to you!!
Shane I agree in the what goes around comes around philosophy!!

Some of the things I think about this "creature" who did this are unable to be said on here.
