Calling all Cumbrians!

I got an email yesterday about this fund raising event.

South Lakes Wild Animal Park Spring Ball

Urswick is a bit too far for me to go, but I though some Cumbrians might be interested as it's a very good cause.

On Friday 25th March South Lakes Wild Animal Park are holding a Spring Ball to raise much needed funds for the critically endangered Cotton Topped Tamarin.

The Ball will take place at The Coot on the Tarn, Urswick. Tickets are £20 per person (or a table of 10 for £180) and we have a fantastic evening of music from a local 15 piece swing band as well as a pie n pea supper lined up.

The latter end of 2010 Rosamira, our Colombian Cotton Topped Tamarin Programme Manager from Colombia,  spent 4 days here at South Lakes meeting visitors and speaking with every one about the latest developments of the rainforest conservation project we support in South America.  The result of the visit was the disturbing information Cotton tops are just one step away from extinction with their rainforest habitat disappearing fast. What Rosamira has left us with is a fighting spirit to make sure we do not loose yet another species from this planet.

We hope you will support us and join us at this event! You can purchase tickets by contacting our office staff on 01229 466086 ext no.0 or purchasing them online by following this link http://www.freewebstore.org/South-Lakes-Wild-Animal-Park/Spring_Ball_ticket/p640835_2976449.aspx
