More Swans shot

Hi all

Sorry but it has happened again

Further to the story of 8 dead and 1 wounded swan found on the Somerset levels on the 22nd of February 9 more shot swans have been found in the same area.

What on earth is this lunatic playing at ?

There is now a reward of £10,500 on this persons head raised by the local community

  • I have just watched the report and it is very distressing. I hope when they catch this person he is jailed and not let off lightly like is usually the case. It is hard to believe that anyone could do this. Shocking!

    hi Janner

I found the links very very distressing to watch

The is some 'sick' excuse for a human on the loose firing at anything that moves.  He is a danger to all living things - and does not know right from wrong

One Swan had to be taken from its dead mate - how sad is that!

It needs a 24/7 check on the Swans now before anything else happens

    Grrrrrrrrrrr ....

    Regards

  • Hi Janner,

I saw this article on the news too...it's so sickening and I just hope that someone catches this moron sooner rather than later. The sad thing is that if he is caught (an assumption that it's a 'he' I know) he will probably get a slap on the wrists, a fine and maybe a little community work....a sorry society that we live in these days.

Some may think I spend too much time looking out of the window....

    Hi Janner

Another up to date link and it appears a total of 31 Swans have been killed in the area over the past month

It has got to be one individual doing this evil act and he has got to slip up and be caught sooner than later

  • I just don't understand what would possess someone to do this? Keep seeing it on the local news...can't understand it...we need some local people to hide themselves around the area ready to photograph this person...

  • Despicable. I know what I'd like to do to the culprit(s) when they're caught!

  • Heard about this today on the radio.  It is just awful.  I hope they catch the people.

December 21st is a great day - the sun starts to come back to us and spring is in the air!

  • Just seen on the news that Terry Pratchett has added £10,000 to the reward for catching the killer. Awesome guy, love him so much...he didn't know if it would make any difference but it was to show his sentiments about this act. He didn't think that the killer would get what he deserved, and is probably right, just need to hope that he actually gets caught, he (or she!!) should be made and example of and to show other people that don't regard animals/wildlife of high importance that we won't put up with this sort of thing....grrrrrrrrr....aaaaaaand relax....

Bless him, as the money is a tidy sun for someone to give the culprit away to the Police.

  • when caught, this joker should be horse whipped to with in an inch,

of his life, then made work on a nature reserve, with no pay for at least 5 years.
