Cawston Woods made up of Cawston Spinney, Fox Covert and Boat house Spinney nr Rugby is being vandalised by kids digging it up to make BMX ramps. Since 2002 they have dug up approx 40 tonnes of woodland carpet, destroyed the ancient bluebell glade and a large badger set, and are now hacking through tree roots to make drainage ditches!
I am in contact with all the local agencies and the Trustees who own the woods, but need to rally more support. If anyone is familiar with the woods or would like to know more, please contact me through FB Save Cawston Woods group.
This is a designated ancient semi-natural woodland FULL of birds and needs help as it is the last such habitat for miles around.
