Bald Eagles. VERY Sad!

Hi there

Yet another problem with a species of bird that are not coping well in their own climate at the moment

The comment in the comment box are interesting to read too

Bald eagles are resorting to any lengths to get food even if that means going to landfill.

ahhhh my local paper from home!  The Comox Valley is a gorgeous area, so much woodland and forests, but other than the smallish residential community, it's a great spot for camping/fishing etc. over on the island.  I know that fish counts there have been very low in recent years - too much of the illegal fishing going on for the salmon runs.  They've also had a fairly harsh winter, and funnily, they don't mention that one of the main employers in the area is the Canadian Air Force with their western provinces air force base being in Comox.

The festivals in Campbell River are usually very well attended, so hopefully they will raise some of the much needed funds.  Looks like UK is not the only government reducing funds for much needed resources to community and charity groups.

That is sad to hear that, the Bald Eagle is a magnificent bird of prey. as are all Raptors

    Feed The Birds....not the cats!!!!

    I know....my spelling's crap !!

    Hi Rob

It is very sad as it looks although their natural food is not around at the right time for whatever reason and because it is not around, the BoP's are now starving.  their whole appearance has been affected and they are getting all sorts of problems.

As someone said in the comment box on the link... the area might be overfished so that is why the birds natural food source is not around for them.

I hope that they survive with some human intervention, and understanding.

    Regards

    Hi Rob

Love to hear more of what you have to say here

It is a species which is suffering a lot so it is a question of what we do next to help the birds
