We will have to move soon to a smaller house with a smaller garden How can I protect our exising garden visitors who regularly come to us for food and water, plus nesting materials (nest boxes plus moss in the garden plus hedges and trees) Covenants only last for 1 buyer
Our existing garden is large enough for a developer to build a house here
Protecting habitats from developers
Hi fatty and welcome to the forums!
I think your post got 'lost' so giving a bump here!
I am afraid there is not really a lot you can do to protect your existing wildlife, you just have to hope that the new occupiers are wildlife friendly.Animals and birds are quite adaptable and probably do not use your garden exclusively so can still go elsewhere.
You will be able to attract visitors to your new garden so hopefully that will be some consolation.

It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
