Sadly there is no future until somehow shoots are brought into dialogue into how is it possible for Grouse and Hen Harriers to live in reasonable numbers side by side, all my ideas have been shot down but until there is serious intention to save the Hen Harrier in England by bodies pretending to care and not recognising it is so easy to avoid prosecution by people killing them there is no hope for them. All the above comment proves is how easy that is.To say it is a crime to kill a Hen Harrier is like saying it is a crime to drive with a mobile to your ear, impossible to police and when caught the punishment is slap on wrist for both crimes.
i agree i also agree with seymours comment re the killing in norfolk but nothing seems to have been
done, about it then in a tv interview the old man was more or less poo pooing the incident, i hope not to contravershal but known facts, cheers mac
Hi Mac sadly almost everyone does not understand how easy it is for someone who dislikes H H and is in charge of a massive area of land to (ACCIDENTALY)tread on a H H nest and of course even if no one believes it accidental however could you prove otherwise. We see them when we go to Mull and it always seems strange to me that lots of money paid out to get Eagle numbers up but no one dare to suggest money to get H H numbers up and indeed I am not against paying to get Eagle numbers up or for that matter the amount spent on 20 Cranes in Somerset levels must be colossal,so why not for a magnificent bird like H H,it beats me and it must almost have been extinct in England for several decades if not a century.Lets face it there is no likelihood of it getting better with cuts in police force unless someone such as RSPB really focuses on solving the problem at source rather than trying to get convictions.
Hi-
if your RSPB subscription does NOTHING but help protect Hen Harriers then it was worth the money
